As with other instruments in the company's Blackbird series, the body, neck, and sides are constructed out of mahogany to ensure a warm yet tight sound. However, the dreadnought shape of the body lends a projected, resonant sound to the mix. The 25.59" scale neck offers a techwood fingerboard and bridge, both of which sound great while carrying the extra benefit of using sustainable material for the instrument. A built-in preamp offers volume, bass, midrange, and treble controls, as well as other knobs to shape the sound. A presence control lets you cut more onstage, while the phase control helps ameliorate onstage feedback. To top it all off, a built-in tuner means you don't need to buy a separate one. To foster a classic and timeless look, the instrument utilizes ABS in the style of vintage ivory binding and is topped with a smokestack black finish.
